.xXx.Lucifer Sven.xXx.
A tired look overtook Lucifer's face- his eyes seeming to hollow out his skull and turn grey. His posture slouched over and his hands stopping all movement they once had.... his entire body stopped. His head cast down and his wings on his back seemed to flex in thought. What was his purpose here? Why was he choosen to become immortal? Why did he have to live through loss and love over and over again!?! Why couldn't he just find one, just one immortal to love!?!
It was alway someone who died quickly. A Vampire. An angel. A devil. A werewolf. Almost every single creature that walked this godamn earth- he had loved... and they had died. His soul was empty, a giant gaping hole seeming to open up within his hollow chest and swallow him whole. His golden eyes burned with fury; burned with emotion- or maybe it was just tears unshed through his tiring years.
He was a king of this kingdom, and yet recently he was finding it harder and harder to go on without someone by his side whom he did not have to watch age... it was sickening. It was harmful to his life- what life? Standing here, he could look up and see the overpass of the mountains of the Rike kingdom... he was friends with Kia... they had dated once... but it didn't work out. She didn't want to leave Rike, and he was unwilling to leave Royaume. That and, with all the loves he once had- he knew she had merely been an infatuation. She was merely his brain trying to grab a hold of an immortal love while he was still sane. But, with a shake of his head, he turned away and faced his own kingdom.
He needed to get a grip on his life, his heart, his head, his emotions... everything- lest his kingdom suffer for it.

Mya Lynn
Mya stood in the shadows of a great pine tree and watched the Royaume King. Kia had sent her here and during the trip, she had wondered why, but a quick glance into the King's mind and her questions were answered. She felt a pang of pity in the pit of her stomach. Indeed, the King was right. His love for Kia was not the true love he was seeking, even if it was immortal. Mya sighed and her body shifted into it's shadow. In this state, she was invisible to everyone unless you were watching the ground closely and noticed her movement.
She climbed up the tree and gracefully jumped from one branch to another, like an acrobat, until she reached the King's side. At this point, she changed back into her human self (a little less graceful self) and hopped onto the ground.
"You were thinking of my mistress, my lord?" Mya asked, already knowing the answer. Perhaps this was none of her business at all, but Mya felt a sense of loyalty to Kia and to bring back news of Kia's former lover she knew would be welcomed.

.xXx.Lucifer Sven.xXx.
Lucifer's desolate mind was wandering to dangerous territory. It was useless to avoid it- he was lonely. It was painful to say it, but it was painful to keep it to himself. It was a lose-lose situation. He just couldn't stand that excrutiating pain any longer. Holding it, welled deep inside his body was slowly killing him; yet he would never die. Woe is the tragedy of an immortal, to suffer such pain for all eternity. It was not such a blessing, as many people thought, it was a terrible curse. A horrible disease. It should be avoided as much as the black plague.
To Lucifer, he was in an eternal hell.
When Mya landed on the ground near him, he didn't flinch. But on the inside, he was slowly putting back together his image. After all, he was a King, he was expected to act a certain way. Thinking of her mistress? Oh, yes, Kia. He let a fleeting glance slide over Mya. "Not really... just a passing thought." He replied. But, realized his error in his sentence, a passing thought was still thinking... was it not? Well... he had already said it, and he couldn't take it back. He was on the brink of jumping. Immortals could die from physical wounds, right? It was only time that did not touch them. It would be so easy, to jump off a cliff... even a building. Damn... he really must have been lonely to be concidering suicide. Lonely... a damn hell in itself.
ooc// Wow... I've been a bad staffer... sorry, going through complications. Sorry for not having replied earlier... well... better late than never. n.n

Nabain wandered over the deer trail that led through this part of the dense, writhing forest. Around him were the comforting blends of black-brown and discoloured green, the tiny hints of mists seeping through the thorny undergrowth that scratched in futility at his reinforced leggings.
Hopping up and over a fallen birch, he paused to scan the night sky, stars gleaming in the gap that the dead tree had left behind. He counted out the lines of E'eon, remembering his path would take him closer to the Garwain ocean. Altering his direction, his headed north towards the lumbering hills in search of a high place to spend the night.
The sealed spirits in his flesh began to pick up something. It was weak, perhaps discordent or simply far away. It was prey for him in the former, possibly a threat if the latter. He turned again and made North-north-east, trying to determine the creature.
The closer he got, feet softly dancing over the ground as he snuck quietly under the canopy, the more he felt a massive amount of unease. The patterns that his captives picked up were beginning to resonate with a form of transcendency, indicating a divine being. Thoughts of monsters that used the woods as stalking grounds filled his head, but he knew this one was different, it carried the pattern of the Godlands.
Whether it was morbid curiosity, youthful arrogance or a despair at his leaving alive anyway, Nabain snuck closer towards the creature. Closing to within 15 metres, unknowing as to whether he was already detected, he saw that the vaguely humanoid outline in the darkness was not alone.
Crouching down, his augments breathing through his skin to minimize any sound from giving him away, Nabain prepared to listen.

Kari paced in her human form, thinking about the most recent complications her pack had come across. A stray wolf had come across the pack as they ran last full moon, and had sensed that though she was young, she was in charge. He had decided to challenge her for the rights of Alpha. She had, of course, accepted. There was no way she'd leave her pack in the hands of this fool. Then she had, of course, decimated him. She sighed. She hated fighting. And it was only a matter of time before she was challenged again.
Kari shivered. Why was everything about fighting for some wolves? Wasn't the thrill of the run and the sweet, beautiful night enough for them? She shivered again.
'Okay, maybe I shouldn't have run all the way here .last night without a coat.' she thought. But it was fun... And who wouldn't want to run all night, without having to think or lead or worry about anything? She sighed again. Noa would be worried. As if she couldn't take care of herself. She snorted, then partially shifted to give herself some warmth. Next time, she was bringing a coat.

Mya Lynn
Tilting her head to the side, Mya's expression became amused as she surveyed Lucifer. "No, I'm afraid not," she answered his thoughts. "If you did decide to jump, you would acquire severe injuries that would make your pain worse in two forms--physical and emotional. I'm afraid you're at an impasse." She jumped up and sat upon the stone ledge as if she had this conversation everyday. Perhaps if she was older and had more empathy, she wouldn't be happy in the midst of someone so broken. But at that moment, she could not be sad.
"You say you are lonely, my lord," Mya began, playing with a stray lock of hair, "but does it make sense to choose solitude in your time of need? Why are you not with your people? And if you are lonely, then why does my presence not give you comfort in the fact that I have indeed sought you out? Of course, there could be the possibility that you do not wish to see me, but since you have not sent me away, my lord, I can only assume that my being here brings some comfort. Wouldn't you agree?"
She smirked at her logic, half-wondering if it really made sense or if she was just pleased because she was hiding something from him. Either way, her smile fell as her thoughts were quickly interrupted by a blur of words coming frm behind her. She looked back but the premises around her and the King were vacant as far as she could see although the new sound did not disappear. "An eavesdropper," she thought to herself. "How pleasant."

Nabain continued to wait, slowly withdrawing a thin, supple knife of iron-wood, gently infusing it with a portion of his most unpredicatble 'servants'. He had begun to identify the sheen of ambient power around the two, but while one was immortal, trace amounts of escaped mana were already being trapped within Nabain's seals.
The Godthing can be trapped, contained, but not killed... that's a big issue. He thought, trying to remember any techniques or powerful seals that would bind the spirit while he trapped its essence in his seals. Truth be told, he was not doing this for power or any moral obligation, but s long as he could sleep safely, Nabain would do anything.
He moved a leg, slowly, haltingly, the knife balancing on his finger. The spirits that now coated it would awaken as soon as they tasted blood, and would rip into a mad frenzy with disgusting results.
He raised an arm, preparing to let the weapon fly.

Kari continued to pace, then saw a human holding a knife and staring at something. She glanced in that direction and saw Mya and a person she did not know. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." she told the human, amused. Any fool who would try to kill Kia's personal detective was, indeed, foolish.
Just in case he didn't listen, Kari shifted to wolf form and ran over the Mya and the person she didn't know, nudging the former with her nose. She shifted back to human and raised an eyebrow. "Long time no see, Mya-chan. Just to let you know, there is a human back there preparing to kill one of you- not sure which."

The nudge to her back should not have come as a surprise, but it did. Mya spun around and was face to face with Kari, the leader of the pack in Royaume and one of her best friends. She looked with chagrin at Kari and then caught site of the human several paces away. "Thank you, Kari-san," Mya thanked her. "I didn't realize that we were involved in the conflict."
Mya then took a step towards Nabain who still had the knife in his hand. "Can I help you?" she asked kindly, though the expression on her face was guarded. She searched his mind for an answer, but what she got were very jumbled thoughts. The picture she was receiving was so unclear she couldn't be positive what he was thinking.

"You can try not to kill me in my sleep, woman." Nabain grunted, holding his hand over the edge of the knife and drawing back the sleeping spirits into his augments. Spitting to the side in irritation, he began taking deep breaths to compensate for the strain he had put on his enhancing tattoos.
He jerked a thumb at the other man, teeth gleaming in the moonlight. "There a reason why you associate with a Godthing?" He asked, "Those bastards are void-touched, chaotic. Kill you soon as they got bored." He pocketed the knife in a back holster, stifling a burp as a bubble of leaked gas erupted from his stomach.

The words coming from Nabain's mouth were confusing. Was he referring to her? Mya glanced back at Kari with questioning eyes. The man obviously wasn't from around these parts otherwise he would be more accustomed to the culture. But nor was he completely barbaric, either. In fact, if Mya didn't know any better, Nabain had actually insulted her.
"Do I appear as a mere human to you?" Mya inquired before she disappeared the from the scene. Her body had morphed into her shadow which was now well hidden in the shadow of the trees around them. She positioned herself a few yards away from Nabain, though in the path between him and the king lest Nabain should choose to attack. She didn't completely understand him, but Mya didn't wanted to let down her guard quite yet.

'A void shifter... well and I the luckiest bastard this side of the Holy Forest?" Nabain grimaced, keeping his eyes directly focused on the man hidden through the mirk, his Godshine easily detected to the Treeman's eyes. Slowly, deliberately, he began forming the seals to protect his rear, forcing energy into the life-teeming earth.
"A void-thing, a god-thing, an animal-thing... why do I get the feeling I've only got one chance at living through the night?" He mumbled to himself, fingers brushing the hilt of his longest knife.

From under the trees, Mya let out a snicker. Indeed, his chances of survival were not good, but Mya had no desire to kill today unless she absolutely had to. "You are safe for now," Mya promised and shifted back into her human form. "We only harm those who cause us harm."
She searched his mind again, but the thoughts were still jumbled and incoherent. This was new to Mya who was used to reading minds almost as well as just hearing others talk out loud. "I can't understand your thoughts," she said slowly. "I wonder why that is..."

"Uh-huh, you're a creature of the aether and you expect me to believe that I'll be perfectly safe while I sleep? Fat chance..."
Despite himself, Nabain felt his shoulders slacken. Perhaps it was a reaction to the higher magicka concentration in the air, but he found his muscles relax for little reason. Shaking his head, he attempted to bring them back to bear, only to find it leaving him drained of strength.
Listening to her next sentence, Nabain's eyes narrowed in distaste. "Show a man some privacy, huh? My thoughts are mine. As for why... well... that's a trade secret, psycher."

Kari shrugged at Mya. "Don't ask me." she said, also very confused at the human's behavior. She lifted an eyebrow. "I don't mean to butt in, but I seem to be missing a side of the conversation." she said. "What are you talking about, Mya-chan?" She shook her head, grumbling about silly mind-reading friends. And silly, odd, humans.
Kari grinned at the guy. "Actually, I can guarantee you safety... at least in the majority of the forest." She tilted her head. "Whats your name? I'm Kari, as you've probably figured out. Sixteen, leader of the Royaume werewolf pack, blah blah blah."

"Silence, animal-thing." Nabain snarled, teeth bared and pinprick eyes glaring utter disgust at the shapeshifter. He had little taste for lycanthropes, and the fact that the godthing and void-thing associated with such beasts did little to better his opinions.

Kari pouted. She did have human friends, but most of them seemed to be as close-minded as this one. "Mya-chan," she sighed, "Why art thou humans so annoyingly unable to accept the things more powerful than them?" She lifted an eyebrow at the human... whose name she still didn't know. "You can feel free to answer that as well." She shifted back into wolf form, shivering. Really, next time she was bringing a jacket...

"I wouldn't know how to answer that question myself, thing." For an instant there was the ghost of a haughty grin on Nabain's face, "You see, I've never met any."

Rolling her eyes, Mya put her arm around Kari and pulled her away from the human. "Some people have just been alone for far too long," she pointed out. "But seeing as we have given him hardly a reason to mistrust us...I really can't understand what has unhinged him so." She peeked back at the human and eyed him carefully. Indeed, Mya had never met a human with so many prejudices. However, there was still a lot missing from the puzzle.
Turning attention away from the possible assassin, Mya smiled towards Kari. "Speaking of lycanthropes, how is the pack? You can't tell me you came here just to see my beautiful smile," Mya teased, though her mind was quickly searching through Kari's to pin-point the reason for Kari's presence.

Xx ~ Fate ~ xX The breeze was tender to her skin. The clouds rustled her and it was Fate who looked down from her softest of clouds to spy a group. This was no ordinary group. Her lovely Mya, her detective, was down in that group facing an unfriendly human. It seemed that a werewolf and a born immortal was there in the area. She narrowed her eyes before sighing and with a pout, she concentrate before she quite literally fell from the sky.
Landing on her own two feet, the immortal stood in front of the group with a child-like stare. She had ot bothered to switch to a disguise of a human child because, she wanted to see what in nine tails this human was doing to Mya and the other two. "Hello Mya," chirped Fate in a child-sounding voice. She then turned right in front of the others. "I would like to know what sort of... problems have arouse from this group." Fate commanded, her tone soft but yet demanded them. ((Just a reminder to at least try to maintain a word count of 100 for the post. This helps those who are responding to you with their muse.))
